About Corky

After leaving a secretarial job I had for many many
years, I decided to take some much needed time off. Taking a fun class seemed like the way to go. I’d always wanted to learn to quilt. I had no idea I would fall in love with the art form, become quite good at it and be able to design my own art quilts. I was told in high school drawing class by my teacher that I should consider switching to a cooking class and I did. I could never imagine myself sometime in the future being considered an artist.

I have spun my craft into an intricate, skilled and highly unique artistry that is seldom seen in quilting. Straying from traditional quilting concepts, I have blended impressionistic and contemporary modernistic designs that stand out as a trademark unto my own. My motifs and themes range from aboriginal art to fantasy and impressionistic nudes. I like to immerse the viewer in multi-visual delight and fantasy.

Additional information on my art quilts or commissioned works can be obtained by contacting me by email.

This is my favorite quilt and the first time I ever painted on a quilt. It depicts three nude women (my two sisters and myself) floating through thin air with not a care in the world.
