A free 12-week art program is now open until spring

LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area Center for the Arts and students from the University of Michigan’s Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design are teaming up for Fab Collabs, a free 12-week art-making workshop.

Launched in the fall of 2021, Fab Collabs was originally aimed at middle and high school artists.

Andrew Skinner, executive director of the art center, along with Melanie Manos, lead educator at the University of Michigan’s Stamps School of Art and Design, decided to open the program to anyone 12 and older who s interested in art and/or creativity.

The Fab Collabs will take place in the performance hall of the art center from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons until April 12.

Stamps students will develop creative projects in a variety of media for Fab Collabs participants.

The program will include weekly live virtual classes with Ludington area students and University of Michigan Stamps students who are expected to pitch creative projects, demonstrate, and discuss strategies for completing a wide range of projects. .

Those planning to attend are encouraged to pre-register by emailing [email protected] or calling 231-845-2787 with attendee names and ages as well as contact details of a parent or guardian if you are under 18.
