Art student selected by University of the Arts London to exhibit work at Origins Creatives in London – FE News

Daniel Channon, 23, an art student at Guildford College, has been selected to exhibit his work at Origins Creatives, taking place at the Truman Brewery in July.

Daniel’s submission, titled ‘It Came to Me Like a Wave’, explores an underwater environment inspired by a diving trip the artist took off the coast of Cornwall and caught the eye of the curator of the UAL Awarding Body from nearly 500 submissions.

Artist Daniel said, “I’m really proud that my work has been selected for this exhibition. This is the biggest work I have created to date and I am very happy with the result. I now hope to continue and start the Art Foundation program here at Guildford College as I love it here and everyone has been so supportive and friendly.

Kat Baddeley, Daniel’s tutor at Guildford College, said:

“I am delighted that Dan’s latest major project has been chosen by UAL for the Origin exhibition, as we have all recognized it as an exceptional creation that fully deserves the recognition it receives.

“It’s a testament to a year of hard work and commitment from Dan and I wish him the best of luck on the next steps in his educational journey with us at Guildford College. We can’t wait to see what he creates next!
