Art student turns her hobby into a career


Tsakani – A 21-year-old student from Tshwane University of Technology has made a name for himself in the music industry.
Jackson Lucky Motla, known as JL SA, originally from Tsakani, won by releasing the amapiano tube Sanibonani.

“The song was produced around 2:00 am. I was with a friend named Mtho who is in the song. I started to play a few chords, then followed the lyrics.
“Halfway through the end of the lyrics, we thought about the Mi Casa song These Streets and sampled the flow of the vocals. The song was then released in October, ”he said.

JL SA is a second year fine and applied arts student. He is a self-taught producer.
“I don’t get any help from anyone. I learned to work with instruments a long time ago. It was just a hobby, I didn’t think it could take me that far, ”he added.
Friends and relatives get help from the artist whenever they need help with anything production related.
Motla mentions that he admires many artists, but Martin Gariix is ​​his favorite. He hopes to work with international and national artists in the future.
“I hope one day I can merge my talents with my qualifications,” he said.
