Bay College Names Art Student Award Winners | News, Sports, Jobs


ESCANABA – Bay College selected the winners for its virtual student art exhibition. Each year, Bay College hosts a gallery showcasing the work of current students. Bay was unable to host a reception and awards ceremony since the campus is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the college is sharing in the celebration of our art students‘ success.

Each semester a “Purchase price price” is assigned to one student per course. The chosen artwork is part of the Bay College art collection. Students also receive the 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention.

the “Purchase price price” the winners are Digital Cinema II – Jane Karweick, Surreal Self-Portrait, Digital Cinema I – Deanna DeValve, Self-Portrait, Intro to Art Design – Deanna DeValve, A Christmas Procrastinator, Drawing I – Mariah Sullivan, Still Life.

Other winners include: Digital Cinema II – 2nd place Honora Seppanen, Surrealist Self-Portrait.

Digital Cinema I – 2nd Place Cheyenne LaMarch, Sound Project, 3rd Place Jesse Schafer, Sound Project, Honorable Mention – Miguel Isaac.

Drawing I – 2nd Place, Garrett Van Nett, Still Life, 3rd Place Jane Karweick, Still Life, and Honorable Mention – Cheyenne LaMarch and Honora Seppanen.

Intro to Art Design – 2nd place, Cheyenne LaMarch, Paid By the Word, 3rd place Lauren Czerwan, Hey Diddle Diddle and Honorable Mention – Lauryn Bloniarz.
