BernCo Public Art Program Announces Finalists for Bridge Boulevard Phase I Public Art Project

Bernalillo County The top three submissions for the Bridge Boulevard Phase I public art project have been selected and a public presentation of the three finalists is scheduled for March 28.

The county received a total of 19 proposals for the project.

The selection committee evaluated each proposal and, based on the scores, artists Paz, Evelyn Rosenberg and Vanessa Alvarado/ALMA were selected as finalists for the project. The county invited the three artists to submit detailed, site-specific proposals for the project and to present their ideas to the selection committee and the BernCo Arts Board.

The public will be able to attend the presentations which will take place on Monday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. via a live Zoom webinar. Registration for the webinar is mandatory.

After the three artists present their concepts, the committee will select a finalist to create the public art project. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

The local selection committee was made up of members of BernCo’s arts council, representatives from adjacent neighborhood associations and schools, a representative from the county’s planning department, and the project engineer.
