City of Richmond seeks community partners for arts program

Applications to participate in the Engaging Artists in Community 2023 program should be submitted by July 25, 2022.

The City of Richmond is looking for community partners to work with artists for its Artist Community Engagement Program.

The program pairs artists or teams of artists with community organizations to work on artistic projects that address important issues. Examples of projects include public performances, sculptures, participatory art installations, hands-on art activities, workshops, exhibitions and digital media-based artworks.

“Selected community partners can provide participants with a safe and inclusive space for individual and collective creative expressions,” the city said.

Current 2022 programming includes collaborations with Urban Bounty, Walk Richmond and Richmond Fitness and Wellness Association, and Turning Point Recovery Society.

Non-profit organizations, service organizations, community associations, libraries and schools are encouraged to apply.

The deadline to apply for the 2023 program is Monday, July 25, 2022, and selected applicants will then be notified in August 2022. City staff will work with applicants to develop the projects.

Interested individuals are encouraged to contact [email protected] or call 604-247-4612 before submitting an application.

“The commissioned projects will aim to engage a culturally diverse and multi-generational audience,” the city said.
