Guildford College art student accepted into Royal Academy of Arts program

Adam Anscombe, a student at Guildford College, has been accepted into the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts attract program.

attract is a series of free online workshops led by the Royal Academy of Arts for young artists wishing to advance their talent. Applicants are interviewed for a place in the program and must also create an artwork to showcase their talent as part of the application process.

Adam, 18, has created an oil painting of a donut as an application piece and has already enjoyed participating in workshops, including a recent life drawing session.

Adam is in his final year at Guildford College and study Extended Diploma UAL Level 3 Art, Design and Communicationand it produces some stunning creations that we look forward to showcasing at our year-end show this summer.

He accepted a place at University of Creative Arts studying for a degree in illustration starting in september.

Adam said: “I’m so glad I decided to apply for this program, it’s great fun, I’m learning new techniques and it will look great on my CV too! »

Adam’s Art Tutor Kat Baddeley said, “We are really proud of Adam for taking the initiative to apply and be selected for this program, and we look forward to seeing how he progresses. We encourage all of our students to challenge themselves and get involved in a range of extracurricular activities that will support and enhance their time with us. Adam is a great example of what our students can accomplish.
