Launch of an art school in Hemel Hempstead with a 10 week drawing course for beginners
An art school in Hemel Hempstead is launching a 10-week beginner’s drawing course next month.
Local artist and teacher Mario Lautier Vella is bringing his art school, The Fine Art Room, to Hemel Hempstead in October with a 10-week beginner’s drawing course.
The class will begin Thursday, October 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Adeyfield Community Center.
Mario is the founder and main tutor of The Fine Art Room and has been teaching online courses in London and abroad since 2018.
He said: âDrawing is such an important and valuable skill for any artist, craftsman or designer and it is the best way to start your own practice if you are looking to get into the art.
“The Learn to Draw course is for beginners or anyone who hasn’t done art for a while.
“This is a comprehensive, step-by-step course that covers much of the essential theory as well as practical techniques, and provides you with everything you need to draw with confidence and make artistic creation enjoyable.”
Drawing is a key part of Mario’s own artistic practice, the professional artist regularly making and exhibiting his drawings and other works.
In 2017, he exhibited 100 drawings made in 100 days at the Peter Ingram Gallery of Frogmore Paper Mill in Apsley.
He has also exhibited works at the Space2 Gallery of the Watford Museum and won the prestigious Watford Area Art Challenge trophy twice in 2018 and 2016.
His art has been exhibited across the UK as well as Croatia, Portugal, Germany, Malta and Japan, and is in private collections around the world.
Later this month, Mario will be exhibiting drawings, paintings and prints as part of the annual Herts Open Studios with other Dacorum-based artists at the Dacorum Creatives Hub in the Marlowes Shopping Center. The exhibition is open from September 18 to October 10.
