Lusher Art Student Google Contest Finalist, $30,000 Scholarship

NEW ORLEANS — A Lusher High art student is now one of five finalists in the Google Doodle art contest, which will feature the winning student’s art for 24 hours on the website and give the winner a $30 scholarship. $000.

Morrah Burton-Edwards’ work “Love Made Visible”, emphasizing kindness, was selected as the best in grade 10-12. His work will now compete with four other students from other grade levels for the title of Google Doodle Champion 2020.

The writing that accompanied his entry, which features various illustrations of his family members, says:

“Kindness is love made visible, so I show kindness by showing my family that I love them. But also, when I show strangers and others that I care about them even when they are not not being nice to themselves, I’m being nice. A simple act of kindness like a hug can brighten someone’s day.
