One River School of Art + Design opens student street art exhibition

The One River School exhibition celebrates street art in collaboration with The Westchester Mall.

One River School of Art + Design will be displaying artwork from a two-week street art camp by its Westchester art students aged 8-18. The exhibition is in collaboration with The Westchester Mall in White Plains, NY. One River School of Art + Design has two locations in Westchester, NY in Larchmont and Hartsdale where summer art camp students created paintings inspired by graffiti and street art to convey their own individual messages.

Campers were able to study the street art movement, which features artists like Banksy, and create their own large-scale paintings on wooden panels with acrylic spray paint. Although the students may be more familiar with the appearance of graffiti and its appropriation in advertising and popular culture, they were challenged to implement their own unique style when creating their paintings.

Join One River School of Art + Design for the Opening Reception of Street Art Painting exhibition at the Westchester Mall on Thursday, August 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The exhibition will be presented at the Savor Level Top Floor and will remain on view until mid-September 2018.

The Westchester Mall is located at 125 Westchester Ave, White Plains, NY.
