Penticton Art Gallery to host student art program throughout the school year – Penticton Western News

The Penticton Art Gallery will be hosting a teen studio art program during the school year.

From September to June, the art gallery will run a weekly program to help students develop their artistic skills.

Held on Tuesdays between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the program will focus on the physical arts; painting, engraving, drawing, sculpture and ceramics.

“[We] developed this program as a way for young people interested in the arts to develop their technical skills and creativity outside of school, ”the art gallery said in an email to Penticton Western News.

Despite the COVID-19 restrictions, the Gallery said the program will be hosted in person in its educational space.

All students participating in the program will be featured in the Gallery’s Studio Art Gallery exhibition at the end of May 2022.

For art gallery members, the program will cost $ 65 per month, or $ 75 per month for non-members.

The program will be a total commitment and not a monthly one.

The program begins September 7 and accepts students aged 13-18.

Applicants can register by calling the Art Gallery at 250-493-2928 or in person.
