Residents enjoy the Paint and Sip art program at Friendship Village

Events that feature painting while sipping wine have become very popular over the past decade – and why not?

There are a number of companies and organizations that offer group painting events where participants get together with friends or family to drink wine and paint a picture under the guidance of a professional artist.

About two dozen residents participated under the direction of Amanda De La Matta and Joshlyn Johnson, Coordinators of Lifestyle Activities.

De La Matta led the group painting fields of dandelions while wine was being served. Jill Steco, director of lifestyles at Friendship Village, said there was a lot of talking and laughing, and the paintings were beautiful.
