Riot Games unveils the first Star Guardian art school in the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Riot Games is bringing the alternate universe of League of Legends to life with the opening of the Star Guardian Art School at Moon Rabbit Cafe and Restaurant in San Juan City from July 29-31.

Star Guardian is a series of in-game character skins that portray League of Legend champions as high school students by day but battling the forces of evil by night. It was first released in 2015 as a tribute to the “mahou shoujo” anime genre which focuses on young girls who possess magical abilities or powers.

“The Star Guardian universe is actually a world that fans have wanted to see again for so long and that includes gamers and anime fans in the gaming community, so we wanted to capitalize on that, and really perfect timing too. At the end of the day, the essence of Star Guardian is that it empowers young women and it’s a celebration of authentic self-representation that will hopefully resonate with the fan base. “said Joel Guzman, National Operations Manager for Riot Games in the United States. Philippines.

Riot Games invites Filipino fans to experience Star Guardian at a one-of-a-kind event: Star Guardian Art School. The exclusive three-day limited-time event brings the alternate universe to life. Fans can show off their creativity by participating in two different art workshops: DIY Tote Bags and Pins and Hydro Dripping, where they can create Star Guardian-themed items.

In addition to hosting the art school, the Moon Rabbit Cafe and Restaurant will also serve exclusive Star Guardian-themed drinks, which fans can enjoy while watching Star Guardian music videos playing in the cinema area.

“We are thrilled to bring the Star Guardian Art School experience to fans, gamers, and anime enthusiasts nationwide to show their appreciation for their loyalty and support. We hope the event can bring together the Filipino gaming and anime communities as Riot Games continues to identify local interests and opportunities for other title-related events in the future. Guzman added.

Registration for The Star Guardian Art School is now open. Guests will need to book their preferred workshops and timeslot through Eventbrite. In accordance with health protocols, only fully vaccinated people will be allowed entry and face masks must be worn at all times.
