Share your thoughts on Sarasota’s public art program
SARASOTA, FL – The Sarasota Public Art Bureau is seeking community feedback through a new public art survey, the city said in a press release. The survey is available online here.
The survey is part of the city’s master plan process. When completed next year, the master plan will provide recommendations on implementing city-wide public art resources and prioritizing opportunities to better serve the community.
“We envision a fair community where the integration of public art into city initiatives, neighborhood revitalization efforts and private developments is a standard, where every citizen and visitor to Sarasota can freely experience quality art. and creative expression as part of his daily life, âMary Davis Wallace, senior planner, said. “Your comments will help shape the future of public art in Sarasota.”
The online survey will be open until January 14. The city will be hosting in-person community workshops for artists, business owners and the general public early next year.
The survey asks respondents the following:
- what works of public art they recognize from images,
- their favorite public artwork,
- where they would like to see more public art,
- what type of public art they would like to see more of.
